A supplier of solar mounting systems has launched a new set of solar roof anchors, which the company says will accelerate installation and precision.
Midlands-based
Mount Solar Ltd has developed four new stainless steel
roof anchors designed to accommodate the range of narrow
rafters across the UK roof spectrum. According to the company, the mountings can accommodate rafters as narrow as 35mm and a variety of roofs. They have been given the greenlight by the National Federation of Roofing Contractors and have passed independent tests by the Building Research Establishment (BRE), in accordance with MCS012, the standard governing pitched roof installation kits for the solar market.
"The new anchors have been specifically designed to provide an adaptable mounting system for all solar panel installations where rafters can be as narrow as 35mm," Dan Pearson, managing director of Coventry-based Mount Solar, explained. "In addition to the standard roof anchor, there is an extended version with a longer arm and also height adjustable versions available to accommodate all varieties of roofs. Consequently, the fitting is more precise and saves valuable installation time."
Research & development
The commercial launch of the new mounting systems, which have been patented, follows a £20,000
investment in product development, tooling, industry consultation and testing over the last six months, the company said.
Established in 2009, Mount Solar provides a range of aluminium rails, connectors and caps as well as module clamps and accessories, as well as roof anchors.
